Benjamin Logan’s girls golf team took runner-up honors at the Division II sectional tournament Wednesday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course, while Indian Lake’s Regan Ross advanced as an individual.
The top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team move on to the Division II district tournament, which is Wednesday at Pipestone Golf Course near Miamisburg.
Ft. Loramie won the sectional title with a 380, Ben Logan was just two strokes back in second with 382, Versailles was third with 386 and Urbana came in fourth with 421 to take the final qualifying spot.
Riverside finished eighth as a team with a 454 and Triad came in 14th with a 521. Indian Lake had just two golfers compete and did not score as a team.
Sydney Wesson powered the Lady Raiders with an 84 and placed second overall out of 79 golfers. Ft. Loramie’s Eva Bolin was tournament medalist with an 82.
Also for the Raiders, Leeah Valentine fired a 93 and was fifth overall, Taylor Lafferty carded a 100 and was 14th overall, Willow Titus shot a 105 and Olivia Hahn added a 113.
Laker freshman Regan Ross carded a 97 and was 10th overall. It also earned her the fourth and final individual qualifying spot to the district tournament.
Riverside’s Mia Stallard had a standout day and finished 11th overall with a 99, missing a chance at an individual qualifying spot by just two strokes. Teammates Sasha Stotler posted a 113, Malaina Jenkins had a 120, Rozlyn Estep shot a 122 and Maddie Sandford posted a 128.
For Triad, Alli Gregg led with a 116, Joni Russell carded a 124, Audra Millice had a 135 and Megan McManaway added a 146.
Indian Lake’s Bree Stid also competed Wednesday and finished with a 132.
