Benjamin Logan’s boys and girls bowling teams delivered strong performances Wednesday at the Division II sectional tournament at Poelking Marian Lanes in Huber Heights.
The Raider squads both qualified to the district tournament as teams, while West Liberty-Salem’s Gage Rudasill and Erica McCall and Triad’s Madison Dolby all qualified as individuals.
The top 10 teams in each sectional advance to the district tournament, which is Thursday for both the boys and girls at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek.
Urbana claimed the boys sectional title out of 25 teams with 4,124 pins, Springfield Shawnee came in second with 3,893, Northwestern was third with 3,869 and Emmanuel Christian came in fourth with 3,838. Ben Logan’s boys were seventh with 3,766 and is the second time in three years they have advanced to the district meet.
WL-Salem’s boys were one spot shy of advancing as a team and were 11th with 3,562, while Indian Lake was right behind in 12th with 3,551. Riverside took 22nd with 3,093.
