Bellefontaine’s baseball team scored one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to fight off visiting Stebbins for a 3-2 victory in Central Buckeye Conference action at Blue Jacket Park.
The Chieftains improve to 13-3 overall and 7-2 in the CBC. The win also completed a season sweep after BHS defeated the Indians 11-0 earlier this season. Stebbins falls to 4-9, 2-7.
Bellefontaine scored two runs in the third inning for a 2-0 lead.
Stebbins battled back with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to knot the score at 2-2.
Connor Burton had an RBI double to put the Chiefs ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Bellefontaine then held the Indians scoreless in the top of the seventh to grab the win.
Tyler Jones had a triple and two RBI and Clay Wisner added a triple for the Chiefs.
Cole Braun recorded the win in relief. Clay Wisner started and put in five innings of work with five strikeouts. Tyler Jones came in during the seventh inning to get the save. He had two strikeouts.
