The Bellefontaine Police Department will once again be participating in “No Shave November.”
“This is an opportunity for our facial hair policy to be relaxed and allow beards,” Police Chief Brandon Standley said. “The fun of this is for our staff to also pay to participate, which then is used to donate back to a local cause.
“We have raised several hundred dollars each year so far, and anticipate the same this year.”
Each staff member who wishes to participate pays $40 for the month. Last year, the department donated funds to a local family who had a child with cancer to help offset expenses they had incurred.
“This is a great team-building opportunity for the police and for a good cause,” the police chief said.
