Bellefontaine’s girls swim team finished fifth out of 18 teams in a tough Celina Invitational over the weekend.
Jay County of Indiana won the girls meet with 282 points. Lima Shawnee was second with 239, Ottawa-Glandorf was third with 220, Wapakoneta was fourth with 186.5 and Bellefontaine had 184.
Bellefontaine’s boys finished 10th. Wapakoneta, Lima Shawnee, Jay County, Celina and Ottawa-Glandorf occupied the top five spots.
Highlighting the performance for the Bellefontaine girls was Emily Fulmer, who broke her own school record in finishing second in the 100 butterfly (1:02.62).
Emily Fulmer won the 50 freestyle, while Amy Fulmer was first in the 100 backstroke and second in the 100 freestyle.
The Fulmers combined with Shelby Starkey and Molly Schulz to win the 400 freestyle relay and finish third in the 200 freestyle relay.
Starkey was third in the 200 freestyle, Schulz was 10th in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke and Zoe Price was 16th in the 100 backstroke.
For the boys, Isaiah Brady won the 100 butterfly and finished second in the 200 freestyle to lead the way. Drayven Scott was 15th in the 100 backstroke.
The boys 400 freestyle relay team of Brock Finch, Logan Lamb, Scott and Brady finished 10th and the same group took 12th in the 200 freestyle relay.
Bellefontaine is back in action Tuesday at home for a meet against Beechcroft, Northland and Benjamin Logan.
