Bellefontaine’s boys cross country team rolled to the team championship in the KiwanisLogan County Championships Tuesday at Benjamin Logan.
The Chieftain boys swept the top five places to win with 15 points.
“It was a solid effort from our group,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis.
“That is the third runner in eight days to run number one for us. Our teammates keep pushing one another.
They are making one another better.”
The Chiefs’ Marcell Collins won the boys race win a time of 17:52.
Bellefontaine’s Tony Stewart was second (17:59), Gannon Purcell was third (18:01), Gavin Wilson was fourth (18:16) and Patrick Donnelly finished fifth (18:48).
Also running for BHS were Neil Kauffman in 14th (21:19), Simon Kauffman in 20th (22:20), Xavier Sims in 21st (23:05), Ollie Moreland in 25th (23:43), Nick Hunter in 27th (27:00), Cooper Harman in 29th (28:36) and Wyatt Poppe in 31st (29:19).
Bellefontaine’s girls team finished third.
For the Lady Chiefs, Kaydin Lenhart was sixth in the 24:02, Sophie Adelsberger was 11th (24:53), Montanna Buck was 12th (25:00), Brianne Sechrest finished 15th (26:15), Mia DeLong was 17th (26:33), Aubree Hudson was 19th (27:04), Zoey Rister was 22nd (27:34), Lizzy Foreman finished 26th (28:44), Maggie Howard was 29th (29:44), Lexi Yoder was 30th (29:51), Naomi Washburn finished 33rd (32:07) and Avery Hankins was 34th (32:21).
