Barbara Jean Miranda, 85, of Bellefontaine passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 6:55 a.m. in her residence.
She was born in Logan County, Ohio on November 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Elmer Arthur and Edith (Miller) Davis.
On August 8, 1953, she married Raymond A. Miranda in Richmond, IN, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Francis Davis.
She is survived by her two sons, James A. (Karen) Miranda of Bellefontaine and Gary L. (Sharon) Miranda of Sidney, four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, a sister, Delores Terry of New York, several nieces and nephews, and her dog, Apollo.
Barbara was a 40+ year member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine had worked for Palm Grill in Bellefontaine before going to work as a nurse’s aid at Logan Acres Care Center. She loved lighthouses and enjoyed taking walks. She loved time with her family, especially her grandchildren and liked to visit her friends and shut ins. She was always a very generous lady with a big heart. Later in life, she enjoyed watch old Westerns including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and the Andy Griffith Show.
Pastor Daniel McCarty will officiate a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, in the gazebo in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine.
