DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a man who apparently didn’t know how to swim has drowned in a lake in Ohio.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the man whose body was pulled from Eastwood Lake in suburban Dayton on Wednesday night as 19-year-old Hasta Biswa.
Authorities say they received a call just after 6 p.m. Wednesday about a person who went under the water and didn’t resurface. Crews pulled the Dayton man from the water around 7 p.m. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Dayton Fire District Chief Paul Raisch says Biswa apparently didn’t know how to swim but went in the water with some family members who were swimming. The 185-acre (75-hectare) lake is largely used for fishing and boating. Raisch says it isn’t designated for swimming.
