Arthur Dale Hower, 82, of Roundhead, OH passed away unexpectedly, Thursday night, June 30, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health Systems Emergency Department.
Arthur was born on August 29, 1939, in Lima, OH, a son of the late Arthur O. and Irene W. Harford Hower. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Carolyn Stevens, Gloria Jean Stiles, Judy Hower, Raymond Hower, and Jim Hower.
On May 13, 1962, Arthur married Geraldine Evans in Lima, and she survives along with their four children, Wanda (Corky) Conrad of Kenton, OH, Arthur R. (Maggie) Hower of DeGraff, OH, Lorie (Ken) Masters of Marysville, OH, and Jason (Lisa Stahr) Hower of Alger, OH, 12 grandchildren, Sarah (Derek) Clingerman, Wade Conrad, Travis Hower, Josh (Jenna) Hower, Dale Hower, Wesley Oakley, Ashley Oakley, Tyler Oakley, Holland Hower, Jasin Rorabough, Joshua Rorabough, and Kenneth Wilkinson, 18 great grandchildren, Karson, Wyatt, Willow, Kadence, Kade, Tryston, Lilyann, Rosalyn, Aiden, Serenity, Gracelynn, McKenzie, Karson, Jasin, Weston, Waylin, Winter, and Carleah, four siblings, Margaret (Bob) Shellenbarger of Roundhead, Janet (Rick) Tully-Brenenan of Wapakoneta, OH, Bitler (Sharon) Hower of Cridersville, OH, and Gary Hower of Wapakoneta, and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a 1959 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen School. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Arthur’s working career began at Clark Equipment in Lima, and he retired from Koneta Rubber in Wapakoneta. He enjoyed building projects, woodworking, making furniture, welding, and painting in his workshop, gardening, and playing guitar. He was a dedicated and hardworking husband, father, and grandfather, who dearly loved his family.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery.
