For almost 30 years, Marmon Valley Farm has embraced the holiday spirit with its Country Christmas celebration.
The annual event covers the first two weekends in December and draws thousands of visitors and volunteers from across the state.
Just under 3,000 people wandered around the farm over the five nights, enjoyed five nativity-related scenes by wagon, and warmed up with hot cocoa and cookies. The farm also averaged 100 volunteers each night, who helped make the experience more memorable to guests.
It’s my favorite thing we do on the farm,” Jane Olsen, owner, said. “Make sure to start your holiday season next year with A Country Christmas.”
Many people come together to make festivities happen, often traveling from as far away as Cincinnati. One family has been helping for 18 years.
Actors perform scenes from Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem to the shepherds receiving the good news of the Messiah’s birth and culminating at a small manger in a stable.
