An early scoring barrage helped send Riverside’s baseball team past visiting Lima Perry 13-4 on Thursday in a Northwest Central Conference meeting.
The Pirates improve their record to 4-1 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 3-0.
Perry led 3-2 after the first inning. The Commodores added another run in the top of the second to take a 4-2 lead, but the Pirates piled up eight runs in the bottom of the second for a 10-4 advantage.
Riverside scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning and one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning to build a 13-4 cushion. The defense held off the Commodores the rest of the game.
