Six Benjamin Logan High School students will advance to the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference to be conducted virtually in May following their performances at the state contest during March.
BLHS had six student participants at the Ohio BPA State Leadership Conference this year, and each of them placed in the Top Five in their catetories. This is the first year in school history that every state competitor has qualified for national competition, school officials said.
The national qualifiers include:
• Sami Meeker, second place, Intermediate Word Processing;
• Lane Crapnell, Caleb Epp, Trey Miracle, second place, Global Marketing Team;
• Jacob McKenrick, third place, Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications; and
• Brooklyn Horner, fifth place, Prepared Speech.
Throughout the month of March, contestants participated in the Workplace Skills Assessment Program in the areas of business administration and management, marketing, and communications. Students competed by giving virtual presentations and completing Microsoft Office production assignments.
The 2021 Ohio BPA State Leadership Conference Grand Awards Ceremony was released virtually March 26 via YouTube.
Advisers for the BLHS BPA Chapter are Cadan Goldstein and Mandi Wood.
