Four adults were transported by Bellefontaine, Huntsville, Robinaugh and BMRT EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a sport utility vehicle and semi tractor-trailer crash Friday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report driver George S. Aldrich, 79, of Wapakoneta, and his three passengers, Myra L. Aldrich, 80, of Wapakoneta; and Robert P. Wildman, 77, and Paulette L. Wildman, 74, both of Belle Center, were transported following the 12:50 p.m. crash.
Jamil M. Al-Zawahreh, 52, of Lodi, N.J., reportedly was operating a westbound semi tractor-trailer on State Route 274 and failed to yield at the stop sign on State Route 638 and proceeded into the intersection. The semi was struck by a southbound 2014 Ford Flex operated by Mr. Aldrich on S.R. 638.
Al-Zawakreh did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
Damage was heavy to the SUV and moderate to the semi, both of which were towed from the scene. The drivers and front seat passenger Mr. Wildman were wearing their seatbelts, but the two back seat passengers of the SUV were not wearing their seta belts, according to the crash report.
