Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that two drivers and two passengers were transported from a crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of County Road 12 and State Route 292.
Drivers Austin L. Euans, 27, of Marion, and Eva K. Welbaum, 32, of East Liberty, were transported by Perry Township EMS and Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
A passenger in the Euans vehicle, Natalie N. Hines, 25, of Marion, and a passenger in the Welbaum vehicle, Rylee Woodruff, 11, of East Liberty, were transported by Perry Township EMS and Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor or possible injuries.
Euans reportedly was operating a southwestbound 2006 Dodge Challenger on S.R. 292 about 4:15 p.m. and stopped at the stop sign at S.R. 292. He then continued into the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2018 Honda Odyssey operated by Welbaum.
The impact sent the Challenger off the northwest side of the intersection. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
Euans was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
According to the crash report, both Euans and Hines were not wearing seat belts, but the Welbaum and Rylee were wearing seat belts.
Boat operator charged with OVI
Michael T. Robinson, 55, of Marysville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to an incident involving a boat on Indian Lake Saturday.
Deputies responded about 10:40 p.m. to the area of 509 W. Main St., Russells Point., on a report of a boat that had run onto the shore.
Upon arrival, deputies observed two men walking away from the boat, which had sustained heavy damage. Upon making contact with them, they identified them as Robinson and James Grubb.
Grubb stated that Robinson had been operating the boat, while Robinson denied operating the vessel. While speaking with the two men, deputies observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the pair
Robinson did not submit to field sobriety tests and was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he also refused to submit to a breath test. He was released to a sober driver.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be completing the crash portion of the report, deputies said.
