Three Defiance residents were injured, one seriously, when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed about 5:35 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 33 near State Route 117.
Nathan T. Miller, 18, was driving a 2006 Ford Escape eastbound on the entrance ramp from S.R. 117 to U.S. 33 when the vehicle went off the left side of the road, traveled through the median and overturned on U.S. 33, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
A passenger in the vehicle, Jon K. Andrew, 27, sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Mr. Miller and another passenger, Eddie Stiles, 16, were taken with non-incapacitating injuries to Mary Rutan Hospital by BMRT EMS and Bellefontaine Fire and EMS, respectively.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain control.
All occupants were wearing seat belts.
Damage to the vehicle was heavy.
