Driver Boone A. Brubaker, 17, and his passenger, Austin T. Sager, 17, both of Columbus Grove, each was transported by BMRT squad to Mary Rutan Hospital following a one-vehicle crash Monday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Boone was operating a northbound pickup about 8 p.m. on State Route 117 near County Road 38. He reportedly drove off the right side of the road and the pickup struck two trees.
Boone reportedly sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash, while his passenger was treated for possible injuries.
Both occupants were wearing their seat belts. The driver was cited for failure to control.
Pair issued citations during city traffic stop
David C. Taggart, 26, and Kayleen Grago, 23, both of 568 Cooper Ave., Bellefontaine, each was issued citations following a traffic stop about 3 p.m. Saturday in the city of Bellefontaine.
A deputy who was driving in the area of south Main Street near Iron Avenue observed a left of center violation for the vehicle, which then turned into a parking lot at 1101 S. Main St. Mr. Taggart had been driving the vehicle, and then the pair switched drivers while they were stopped.
During a records check, deputies found that Mr. Taggart had a suspended license and Ms. Grago had no operator’s license.
A traffic stop was initiated in the 500 block of south Main Street while Ms. Grago was driving. She was issued a citation for no operator’s license.
When questioned, Mr. Taggart also handed deputies a pipe with marijuana residue. He was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited for driving under suspension.
