Jake Essig of Monroe, a cousin of Logan County resident Aubrey Snapp, and three of his college soccer friends are dribbling soccer balls on a 250-mile trip to raise money for the homeless in Toledo.

The Indian Lake High School softball program raised $617 for breast cancer research during its Swing for the Cure games this spring.
Local boys compete in state bowling tourney

Ian Carpenter and Nate Davis, members of the youth winter bowling league at T-P Lanes, turned in solid efforts recently in the 2013 Pepsi Youth State Bowling Tournament.
Carpenter, 7, rolled games of 85, 80 and 93 for a 258 series. Davis had games of 72, 97 and 80 for a 249 series.
