Barrett’s all-around abilities force Meyer to make switch

Matt BuckeyeInsider

Urban Meyer really, really wanted to use both Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett at quarterback.

Meyer is a big believer in getting his best players on the field and felt like Jones and Barrett both deserved time on the field.

But another week of inconsistent play from Jones and the dynamic play of Barrett in a back-up role forced Meyer to change his plan.

The OSU head coach announced Tuesday that Jones will no longer be the starting quarterback, a job he had since Barrett was hurt against Michigan last season. Now, Barrett is back in the role of the starter and Jones will likely be limited to mop-up duty.
