There are not too many big-time football programs that have to move a player from one side of the ball to another during the season. But that is exactly the situation Ohio State’s coaches were in after encountering problems at the linebacker position.
Because of injuries and a lack of quality depth, senior Zach Boren was switched from his starting fullback position to middle linebacker before the Indiana game Oct. 13.
Boren had not played linebacker since his prep days at Pickerington Central, but OSU head coach Urban Meyer was so desperate for help at the position that he asked Boren to make the move.
