Ohio seeks public comment on hunting proposals

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — State officials are seeking public comment on hunting, trapping and fishing regulations proposed for 2014 through 2015.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will hold open houses to gather comment on March 1 from noon to 3 p.m. The open houses are scheduled for Division of Wildlife offices in Columbus, Findlay, Akron and Athens. Other sites include the Greene County Fish and Game office in Xenia, the Fairport Fisheries office in Fairport Harbor and the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Regional Welcome Center in Port Clinton.

The public can also comment online through March 2 at http://wildohio.com

Division of Wildlife biologists and law enforcement officers will be available to answer questions at the open houses.

The Ohio Wildlife Council will vote on the proposals April 9 after considering public input.
