COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Jack Skille from and sent goaltender Jeremy Smith to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass., and reassigned defenseman Ilari Melart to Ugra of the Kontinental Hockey League.
Skille has two goals in seven games with Columbus. He also has two goals and an assist in six games with Springfield.
Smith was an emergency recall from Springfield, where he was 11-3-1 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 15 games, to back up third-team goalie Mike McKenna. He did not play for the Blue Jackets.
Melart, with one goal and two assists in 24 games in Springfield, can be recalled once the KHL season ends.
