M’burg handles Riverside girls in non-league game

Riverside’s girls basketball team could not keep up with host Mechanicsburg on Monday as the Indians rolled to a 54-36 win Monday in non-league action.

The loss drops the Pirates’ record to 9-12 on the season.

Mechanicsburg held a 27-19 cushion entering halftime.

The Indians stayed in front in the third quarter to build 39-30 lead.

Local teen takes part in NASCAR event

Skylor Mueller, a 13-year-old eighth-grade student at West Liberty-Salem, was one of 17 youths selected to participate in the pill draw for the NASCAR Clash lineup last weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla.
