Riverside’s Stevens overcomes injuries to return to state

The Riverside senior speedster, who qualified to Columbus as a sophomore, missed out on a return trip last year because of injuries.

On Friday, he placed third in the 200 with a time of 22.6 at the Division III regional meet in Troy.

“It feels great,” said Stevens, who placed sixth in the event in 2016. “I’m still battling a few injuries from last year, but I've been training harder than I have before. It makes it feel that much better to get back to state and get another shot at what I do best. It’s a great opportunity for me.”
