PIQUA — With a slight build and a self-admitted lack of perfect technique, Benjamin Logan’s Madison Manns is not the prototypical high jumper.

But Manns has found a way to succeed, and in a big way. Manns on Thursday won the Division II regional title, matching her career-best mark with a jump of five feet, two inches to punch her second straight ticket to the state meet.
The top four qualifiers in each event move on to the state competition, which is next Friday and Saturday at Ohio State University.
“It doesn’t really feel like it’s real right now because this was not my expectation,” said Manns moments after her winning performance. “I feel blessed to get back to state. I have so many people at my school that have helped me. My coaches and teammates have given me so much support.”
