The Chieftains defeated the Braves to win the Central Buckeye Conference crown a week ago. On Saturday at Graham High School, they beat the Braves again to win their first district championship in any girls sport since 2008.

“We knew going in it was our district to win if we took care of business,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis. “We had some things not go well in prelims, losing a sprinter, battling illness and missing the mark in a couple of events. However, we had our young 800 relay and a few others far exceed their initial seeds. Our veterans did their thing, placing in the top two in nine of 17 events.”
