Lady Chiefs make big statement on opening day of district meet

After a stellar regular season, Bellefontaine’s girls track and field team has already grabbed plenty of momentum to start the postseason.

The Chiefs are currently tied for first after the opening day of competition at the Division II district meet at Graham High School. The Chiefs also qualified to the regional meet in two events.

Bellefontaine is tied with Milton-Union for first place in the girls meet after three events with 20 points each.

Springfield Shawnee is sitting in third with 18 points and Benjamin Logan is fourth with 12 points.

Clinton Massie is leading the boys field after four events with 25 points. Miami East is currently second with 20 points and Northwestern is third with 18 points.

Indian Lake is 12th with five points and Benjamin Logan is 15th with 3.5 points.
