COLUMBUS — “Two out of three ain’t bad.”
Indian Lake’s wrestling team saw two of its three state qualifiers secure themselves a spot on the podium when action concluded here Friday at theOHSAA Division III state tournament.
Senior Connor Dixon earned himself a top six finish at 182 pounds, while fellow senior Cole Mefford secured a spot in the seventh-place match at 220 pounds.
The top eight wrestlers in each weight class make the podium and earn all-Ohio honors.
“I’m extremely proud of those guys,” said Indian Lake head coach Ryan Dickson. “They came to battle. They all had tough matches and did well. This is why we put in all the hard work. To get to this point and see it pay off and now we get to put two more names up on the wall in our room as state placers.”
