Lakers, Raiders hope to be at their best in rivalry matchup

A country rivalry game can ignite a spark  for teams needing one.

Benjamin Logan and Indian Lake hope that is the case when they meet Friday at ILHS for a Central Buckeye Conference battle.

“I love to play these county games,” said BL head coach Cameron Saylor. “The environment is electric. The communities know each other so well. It brings a lot to the game. They know what we’re going to do and we know what they’re going to do. What it’ll come down to is who can make the most plays.”

Friday’s game won’t lack intensity as Ben Logan will be anxious to get a victory over Indian Lake, which has won seven of the last eight regular-season meetings. The Raiders last defeated the Lakers in 2015.

“The Indian Lake-Ben Logan game is great for both communities,” said IL head coach David Starr. “This game always gets a ton of support and I’m sure the gym will be packed Friday night.

“Most of these kids have played against each other since they were in middle school. It should be a great night of basketball for both schools.”
