Tigers recover from slow start to bounce Knights

West Liberty-Salem fell down 15-4 after one quarter, but rallied for a 50-45 win over host Greenon in an Ohio Heritage Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.

The Tigers improve to 10-4 overall and 8-1 in the OHC.

WL-Salem outscored the Knights 15-9 in the second period to move within five points (24-19) at halftime.

The Tigers trailed by just one point (36-35) after three quarters. WL-Salem then outscored the hosts 15-9 in the final quarter to secure the win.

Gabby Hollar scored a game-high 16 points to pace the Tigers. 

Also for WL-Salem, Alex Burton scored 11 points, Taylor Lauck had eight points and four assists, Kelsey Day scored eight points and Selena Weaver added seven points and 12 rebounds.

In the junior varsity game, WL-Salem won 31-27. Hailee Davis led the Tigers with eight points.

The Tigers host Madison Plains on Saturday.
