The Chiefs fell down 13-3 to host Jonathan Alder after one quarter. Bellefontaine rallied to tie the game early in the fourth quarter, but was outscored 9-4 from that point on to fall 41-36 in a Central Buckeye Conference contest.

Bellefontaine is now 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the CBC. The Pioneers took over sole possession of first place in the CBC Kenton Trail division with the win, improving to 5-0 in the CBC and 9-2 overall.

“We didn’t come out ready to play,” said Bellefontaine senior guard Nicklaus Lyons. “We didn’t execute our offense very well. We just passed the ball around and settled for outside shots instead of driving to the basket.”
