The Calvary Christian boys basketball team knocked off previously unbeaten Grand Lake Christian 47-34 in recent action.
The Spartans are now 9-1, while Grand Lake falls to 12-1.
Grand Lake Christian scored the first basket of the game. but the Spartans responded with a 17-point run to take a 17-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Grand Lake outscored Calvary 18-5 in the second quarter to cut the Spartans’ lead to two points (22-20) at halftime.
The Eagles surged to a 27-22 lead at the 5:26 mark of the third quarter, but Calvary closed the game with a 25-7 run to grab the win.
Josh Kilgore led the Spartans with a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Andrew Reinhard also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Wilt had 10 points and Tyler Reinhard added nine points and 14 rebounds.
The Spartans face Crossover Christian Academy on Friday at Union Station.
