Raiders take over in 2nd half to dispatch Braves

Springfield Shawnee’s girls basketball team stayed with visiting Benjamin Logan through two quarters Wednesday, but faltered down the stretch as the Raiders pulled away for a 55-41 Central Buckeye Conference victory.

The Raiders improve to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the CBC as the Braves fall to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in the league.

After a 9-9 tie in the first quarter, Ben Logan outscored Shawnee 16-12 in the second quarter. That left the Raiders with a 25-21 advantage at halftime.

In the third quarter, Ben Logan began to pull away with a 15-12 run. That pushed the Raiders’ lead to a 40-33 score. The Raiders sealed the win with a 15-8 run in the fourth quarter.
