Celtics’ size advantage too much for Chiefs to overcome

DUBLIN — A big and physical Dublin Jerome basketball team wore out Bellefontaine down the stretch here Tuesday night.

The Chiefs trailed by just two points with 1:49 remaining, but Jerome ended the game with an 8-3 spurt to come away with a 70-63 victory in a nonleague boys basketball game.

Bellefontaine is now 2-2 on the season, while the Celtics improves to 1-1.

“It came down to turnovers and a lack of rebounding,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton. “We knew those things would be important tonight. It is not that we didn’t play hard, we just didn’t execute well enough.”
