BHS boys open postseason with shutout of Hillclimbers

Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team opened up its postseason with a 3-0 win over visiting Urbana on Tuesday in a Division II sectional tournament game at AcuSport Stadium.

The top-seeded Chieftains improve to 11-4-2 on the season and face sixth-seeded Graham at home on Saturday for a sectional semifinal. The contest will now begin at 1 p.m. because of a conflict with a band performance Saturday night.

“It’s never easy beating a local rival, especially in the tournament,” said BHS head coach Steve Henry. “This team was going to fight, so we needed to earn this win.”
