Bellefontaine shuts out KR 2-0

Two first-half goals helped spur Bellefontaine’s girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Kenton Ridge on Wednesday during a Central Buckeye Conference game inside AcuSport Stadium.

The win improves the Chieftains to 5-3-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the CBC standings, while the Cougars slide to 3-8, 2-3.

“At times in the first half we were a little sluggish, but didn’t allow them any opportunities,” said BHS head coach Matt Price. “Caitlyn Shumaker’s goals before the half gave us some much needed energy to be able to get the win and completed the shutout.”
