Greenon ends 33-game losing streak with win over Triad

Greenon’s football team snapped a 33-game losing streak by pulling out a 42-35 win over visiting Triad on Friday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Knights are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the OHC, while the Cardinals remain winless at 0-4, 0-2.

Quarterback Jordan Simonelli led the Triad offense. He threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns and also had 75 rushing yards and a touchdown. Andy Martin recorded 124 receiving yards on four catches and a score, Isaiah Bruce had 84 receiving yards on six grabs and Jacob Jenkins had 80 rushing yards on 12 carries.

Defensively, Bruce had one sack and returned an interception for a score, Martin had five tackles and two sacks, Simonelli had five tackles, Riley Louck had four tackles and two sacks and Caleb Saunders added an interception.

Triad hosts Cedarville on Friday for an OHC contest.
