Helping the fight

Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team will host Riverside on Saturday in a match that will raise money and awareness for those fighting cancer. Previously played as “Volley for a Cure,” this year’s match is tabbed “Fight For Family” to honor players on the squad who have parents battling cancer. Money raised will go to local families. The event begins with three freshmen matches: Ben Logan vs. WL-Salem at 10 a.m., WL-Salem vs. London at 11:30 a.m. and Ben Logan vs. London at 1 p.m. The junior varsity match between the Pirates and Raiders will start around 2 p.m., and the varsity contest will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, a BBQ chicken dinner, bake sale and a prize raffle. Tickets for the chicken dinner can be obtained by contacting any Ben Logan volleyball player, parent or coach. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
