Riverside senior Marissa Davis recorded her 1,000th career kill Tuesday as the Pirates swept host Bradford in three set during a non-league contest.
The Pirates dominated the Railroaders 25-13, 25-16, 25-13 to improve their record to 2-0.
Davis led the charge for Riverside with 16 kills to achieve her milestone, while Lauryn Sanford added 13 assists.
“Marissa worked very hard to get where she is,” said Riverside head coach Kerri Meade. “She plays every offseason and is always in the gym when the opportunity presents itself.
“As a previous player and now a coach, I know how rare it is to reach this achievement and how hard it is to get there. Volleyball takes a lot of time and dedication and Marissa is more than willing to put the work in to become a great player. To reach this achievement is a true accomplishment.”
