Benjamin Logan’s boys golf team got the season off to a strong start Monday by winning its own Raider Invitational at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

The Raiders beat eight other teams with a team score of 334. Kenton was 20 strokes back in second with 354 and Kenton Ridge came in third with 362.
Riverside finished in sixth with 383 and West Liberty-Salem took eighth with 392.
Newton’s Chet Jamison was the tournament medalist with a 75.
“Our top three players all started poorly,” said BL head coach Chris Conley. “Ethan Ricketts led the team despite starting with a triple bogey. Garrett Allen began his round with back-to-back double bogeys and Will Kenoyer couldn’t get anything going on the front nine, but rebounded on the back. All three of their rounds show what competitors these guys are. They won’t lay down.”
