Zanesfield Petanque Club member Shannon Hodge represented the United States in the World Championships of Petanque last weekend in Ghent, Belgium.
Hodge played in the women’s doubles and the mixed doubles events. There were also teams from the United States in men’s and women’s singles and men’s doubles.
Hodge and teammate John Harris of California played three games in mixed doubles on Thursday and one on Friday. The duo finished with a 2-2 record. The first game was a 0-13 loss to Poland, the second game was a 7-6 win over Russia, the third game was a 6-11 loss to Switzerland and the fourth game was a 10-4 win over Denmark.
