Botkins holds off second-half rally by Riverside

Basketball Ball CloseUp

Riverside’s boys basketball team played well in spurts Tuesday, but failed to get enough momentum to topple visiting Botkins as the Trojans held on for a 56-49 non-league win.

“This one was tough,” said RHS head coach Seth Bodenmiller. “I thought our guys played hard throughout, but we had some untimely mistakes.

“I think that the biggest difference in the game was free throws, though. We only made nine and Botkins made 22. Now, we’ve got to come back and get ready for a conference game with Lehman on Friday.”
