Ben Logan girls handle Hillclimbers

Benjamin Logan’s girls basketball team picked up a big win Saturday over Urbana with a 61-45 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division victory.

The win moves the Raiders into first place of the CBC Mad River division with a 4-0 record and a 6-4 overall mark. The Hillclimbers fall to 5-4, 3-1.

Ben Logan held an 11-10 lead after the first quarter. The Raiders outscored the Hillclimbers 17-12 in the second quarter to take a 28-22 halftime lead.

The third quarter saw Ben Logan continue to pull away with an 18-10 run. That extended the Raiders’ lead to a 46-32 score. 

The Raiders edged the Hillcimbers 15-13 in the final period to wrap up the win.

Nikki Current sparked the Raiders with a game-high 21 points. Natalie Drumm tallied 15 points and Hayley Boysel added nine points.

Urbana won the junior varsity game 24-12. Brooke Watson led the Raiders with seven points.

Ben Logan hosts Mechanicsburg on Tuesday in a non-league contest.
