Lakers dismantle Knights 73-54 in CBC Mad River contest
Indian Lake’s boys basketball team made a statement in the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division Friday by dominating host Greenon 73-54.
The win helps the Lakers even their record to 4-4 overall and move up in the CBC Mad River standings at 3-1. The Knights fall to 5-4, 2-1.
From the start, Indian Lake’s offense caught fire and never let up. The Lakers led 15-9 after the first quarter and went on a 22-13 run in the second quarter. That put them ahead 37-22 at the break.
The Lakers continued to run away with the game in the third quarter with a 23-18 scoring burst. That extended Indian Lake’s lead to a 60-40 score. Greenon edged Indian Lake 14-13 in the fourth quarter, but could not get any closer.
WL-Salem uses late surge to drop Catholic Central 58-45
West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team used a big fourth quarter to pull away from host Springfield Catholic Central Friday and grab a 58-45 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The Tigers move to 5-5 overall and 3-1 in the OHC as the Irish fall to 2-5, 2-3.
WL-Salem held an 8-5 edge over Catholic Central at the end of the opening quarter. The Tigers used a 13-11 effort in the second quarter to increase the lead to 21-16 at halftime.
Falcons hold off Raiders for CBC win
Benjamin Logan’s boys basketball team couldn’t keep up with host Graham Friday and fell 57-47 in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division contest.
The loss drops the Raiders to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the CBC Mad River division. The Falcons are also 3-6 now and 2-2 in the Mad River division.
Graham jumped ahead 13-6 after the opening quarter. Ben Logan used a 10-9 effort in the second quarter to trail 22-16 at halftime.
