Tiger trio advance to state

West Liberty-Salem's cross country program saw three runners advance to the Division III state meet after racing at the regional meet in Troy.

The Tiger boys saw two individuals move on in junior Joey Adams, who was third with a time of 16:31.84, and senior Alex Steiner, who was 14th with a time of 16:54.79.

The Tiger girls saw freshman standout Reghan Bieleski take seventh with a time of 20:12.30 to advance.

The top four teams and top 16 individuals move on to the Division III state meet next weekend in Hebron.

As a team, the Big Orange boys finished one spot shy of qualifying to the state meet for the fourth straight season. Botkins beat the Tigers 121-147 to take fourth.

The Big Orange girls finished eighth as a team.

DIVISION II

Bellefontaine's boys cross country squad competed in the Division II regional meet and finished seventh overall.

Senior Ryan Dunn was the top runner for the Chieftains by finishing 26th with a time of 17:10.66.
