Chiefs’ Morrison no-hits Greenon
05/13/08 Sophomore pitching standout Kara Morrison fired a no-hitter Monday as host Bellefontaine blitzed Greenon 13-0 in five innings in a Central Buckeye Conference softball game. The win improves the Chiefs to 16-9 overall and 9-6 in the CBC. Bellefontaine exploded out of the gate, scoring all 13 of their runs in the first inning. That was more than enough offense for Morrison, who struck out eight and walked one. “I thought the girls came out and did a nice job early in the game,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jeremiah Vigansky. “The defense was pretty solid and Kara threw an outstanding game.” Morrison aided her own cause at the plate, collecting two hits, two runs and an RBI. Tiffany LeVan had a double and two RBI, Kelanie Garman had a double and two RBI and Katie Tarasiewicz and Courtney Smith each had two hits to aid the Chieftain offense. BELLEFONTAINE 13 — GREENON 0 (five innings)
