Tigers hold off Fairbanks for 7-4 victory

West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team held on for a 7-4 win Friday over visiting Fairbanks in a non-league matchup.

The win improves the Tigers to 19-3 on the season.

WL-Salem led 3-1 after four innings, but Fairbanks plated two runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 3-3. The Tiger responded by scoring two more runs in the bottom of the frame for a 5-3 lead and never relinquished it.

Greyson Miller led the Tiger offense going 2-2, while Blake Wirick and Levi Woodruff each went 2-4.

WL-Salem faces Benjamn Logan today in a doubleheader.
