JILL WILDERMUTH

Having already thrown a no-hitter this season, Indian Lake pitching standout Jill Wildermuth went a step further Monday by firing a perfect game to lead the Lakers past host Greenon 11-0 in five innings in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup.

The Lakers improve their record to 18-3 overall and 11-2 in the CBC.

Wildermuth struck out six and also had three hits for the offense.

“Jill pitched a great game,” said Lakers’ head coach Scott Cramer. “Our defense did an outstanding job behind her.”

Indian Lake built a 3-0 lead after three innings and plated eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to secure the win.

Adding two hits each for the Laker offense were Michelle Herren, Jessica Lininger, Chelsea Cramer and Becca Cooper.

Pirates drop Gophers

Riverside’s Sara Emerich and a strong offensive effort helped fuel the Pirates to a 12-2 six-inning win over host Ridgemont on Monday.

Emerich threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts. She also had a double at the plate.

The Pirates are now 11-7 overall.

“Sara threw another good game,” said RHS head coach Rod Yoder. “We got a good offensive production again throughout the lineup. We hit with a little more power. Six of our hits went for extra bases.”

Ashley Jones powered the Pirates’ offense with four hits including a triple. Also aiding the Pirate offense were Abby Heaberlin with two hits including a double and three RBI, Megan Hurley with two hits including a double and two RBI and Lindsey Stevens and Megan Leiss with a double apiece.

Raiders get another league win

Benjamin Logan’s softball team earned its sixth straight Central Buckeye Conference victory Monday with a 7-5 win over host Graham.

The Raiders are now 9-11 overall and 6-7 in the CBC.

“We got off to a good start,” said Raider head coach Ron Smith. “We got people on base and were able to hit them in. Our defense was also good and we had a lot of solid hits.”

Ben Logan built a 7-2 lead after five innings, but had to fight off a late rally by Graham. The Falcons scored one run in the bottom of the sixth and two in the seventh.

Samantha Terrill led the Ben Logan offense, going 2-3 with a home run and three RBI. Kylie Kitson went 2-4 and Chelsey Ramsey recorded a triple and two RBI for the Raiders.
