Wallace named Horizon League player of the week

Former Bellefontaine baseball standout Josh Wallace is off to a blazing start this season with his Valparaiso University squad.

Wallace, a sophomore infielder, was named the Horizon League player of the week for his efforts on the diamond last week. He was 9 of 21 (.429) at the plate with three home runs and nine RBI in seven games. He had two multi-hit performances while scoring five runs and compiling a .538 on-base percentage.

The highlight of the week was in the second game of a doubleheader against Marshall last Wednesday.

Wallace homered twice and drove in six runs. Wallace currently leads the Horizon League in home runs (6) and RBI (17). He also ranks second in batting average at .389.
