Raiders grind out 5-set win over Lakers

Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team pulled out a five-set victory over visiting Indian Lake on Tuesday 25-27, 25-11, 19-25, 25-23, 15-6 to escape with a Central Buckeye Conference win.

The Raiders are now 4-1 overall and begin CBC Mad River play at 1-0, while the Lakers slide to 2-4, 0-1.

Katie Bisel led Ben Logan’s attack with 18 kills and Coreen Crosby was close behind with 12 kills. Tayler Rose and Betsy King combined for 52 assists, Bri Frazier had seven kills and two blocks and Darien King had 15 points and three blocks.

In junior varsity action, the Raiders grabbed a three-set victory. McKinzie Jones had seven kills and six digs, while Natalie Drumm had eight digs and three kills. Allie Wilson and Madison Jones combined for 23 assists.

Ben Logan lost the freshman game to West Jefferson. Jenna Ammons had three kills and five points for the Raiders and Avery Braun had eight points.

Stats for Indian Lake were not available.

Both squads hit the road on Thursday for CBC matchups as Ben Logan travels to Northwestern and Indian Lake travels to Graham.
