Kelby Strapp, a sophomore softball player at West Liberty-Salem, has been selected to compete in the Queen of Diamonds Showcase South in South Carolina.
The showcase takes place Aug. 30-31 at Winthrop University. This event is part of the Queen of Diamonds Showcase series, which are the largest fastpitch softball showcases of their kind in the country.
Players from 21 states and two Canadian provinces will take part in the showcase. In order to be selected, athletes must go through an application process. Players are selected based on criteria ranging from ability, potential, academics, coaches’ requests and referrals.
